![]() ![]() Two serious flaws of doing this is that a file can only be used by one user at a time, and if a file is deleted by one user it is gone for all users, have backups! There is a similar issue in the original way your doing it in that changes by one user are not reflected to anyone else. It will show up in their Windows Explorer as whatever drive you specify but will not put the shortcut on the desktop. This is called when you set the batch file as a login script in the users account settings on AD. There are switches that can be used with NET USE and just look them up. To do that you change the XCOPY to NET USE :unuseddriveletter \\SERVER\folder\folder\documents\audits\ so it might look like NET USE :Y \\SERVER\folder\folder\documents\audits\. Thanks! It can be set as a login script so it is done every time the user logs in. ![]() ![]() Xcopy "\\SERVER\folder\folder\documents\audits\*.*" "%userprofile%\desktop\audits\" /e Do you or anyone know how to use this batch so that it will add a shortcut to the desktop for the sake of having the option to use either Group Policy or batch files. This will end up adding up to a lot of policies to add in. One folder amongst others that I will be putting in here is the users "my documents" folder saved on the server. I see how to create this, and this might just be the best choice. ![]()
